Decide what needs to be in your routine. Prioritise what is important in your life. Time does not allow us to fit everything in, so we consciously or subconsciously choose what is most important to us. If something is profoundly important to change, you will find the time to fit it into your routine.
Layout a plan. Start. No time is better than today. Tomorrow is the same as today, so there is no better time than now. Start small – that way you can build on simple accomplishments. Write it all out on a calendar, almost like an appointment.
Be consistent with time. Try and attempt it at the same time every day. “I don’t have time” is not an excuse. Everyone has the same amount of time in a day. It is how you prioritise it. Excuses will only prolong it.
Be prepared. When deciding upon a new routine, prepare for the day/days to come. Utalise your time effectively to same time in the long run. Whether you are preparing for the day ahead or preparing for the week, being organized will help you find the time to dedicate to your new routine.
Track your progress. A visual calendar is the best way to keep you on track. Nothing motivates us more than seeing progress or completing that task on your list. A visual display illustrates 1000 words. It is a representation of all those little changes you have made.
Reward yourself. Do not take these opportunities for granted. Making change to your routine sounds easy but is so difficult. Take the time to appreciate your new routine and be proud of the time you have taken to achieve what is important to you.
